GAIADiscovery is the remote connection system that allows managers to monitor live production data.
Developed as part of the Uteco Digital Ccosystem project, GaiaDiscovery is the app linked to Uteco’s new-generation machines that allows production managers to monitor production data remotely.
Production managers are not always right next to the machine following the production, but they need to be constantly alerted to any production issues, as well as energy, ink, or material consumption.
To develop this app, we conducted interviews with customers who actively use Uteco machines to gain a real-world understanding of their needs and identify how Uteco could step in to meet those needs.
The project was developed with an IoT approach, starting with a version that works with the LAN connection and then expanding it—through the use of the cloud—to include notifications on smartphones and smartwatches, as well as the ability to compare the performance of multiple machines simultaneously.
